Care About Cushing's ACTH Vouchers
The Practice takes part in the scheme of free ACTH tests offered by Boehringer Ingelheim through its Care About Cushing's web site. Care About Cushing's offers a free annual ACTH test for Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID: formerly known as Equine Cushing's Disease).
YOU MUST SUPPLY THE VOUCHER AT THE TIME OF REQUESTING THE TEST. WE CANNOT ACCEPT VOUCHERS ONCE THE TEST HAS BEEN RUN.
There are 2 types of vouchers:

Diagnostic vouchers
The conditions for issuing the vouchers are:

Any age, though the horse needs to have clinical signs of PPID if it is under 15.

The horse cannot have been diagnosed, or being treated for, PPID prior to the test.

The owner must register, or be registered on the Care About Cushing's web site.

The voucher needs to be generated by the same practice to which the owner is affiliated.

The horse cannot have had a diagnostic test using a voucher within the last 12 months.
We can request these vouchers for clients using Donnington Grove veterinary services. The Laboratory cannot request or process a voucher for non-affiliated referring veterinary practices using our laboratory services. In such cases, the samples and the voucher code must be sent to the laboratory contracted by Care for Cushing's to carry out ACTH tests. For IVC Evidenzia partner veterinary practices, we can process a voucher but the voucher code must be requested by the practice submitting the sample.

Monitoring vouchers
The conditions for issuing the vouchers are:

The owner has registered on the Care About Cushing's web site.

The owner has entered on the site that the horse is being treated with Prascend, and entered the dose.

The owner has accepted to receive emails.

The owner has an ACTH result entered on the site (this will be automatically uploaded by the Laboratory undertaking the test, or an be entered by the owner).

The owner must update the current Prascend dose for their horse on the site.
Again, we can only process vouchers for our own clients or those of IVC Evidenzia partner veterinary practices. For other referring veterinary practice, samples and voucher codes must be sent to the laboratory contracted by Care for Cushing's to carry out ACTH tests.
